Settlement
Milberg US has reached a significant settlement on behalf of the victims with the company Thinx, a producer of specialized underwear. The 4 million dollar settlement marks the end of a lawsuit in which Thinx was accused of using PFAS in their products. PFAS, chemicals developed by humans, are known for the harmful consequences they have on both humans and the environment. Due to their long-lasting presence and accumulation, they cause substantial damage even at extremely low concentrations. They are linked to various health problems, such as thyroid function abnormalities, disruptions of the immune system, and various forms of cancer. In addition to the payment of financial compensation, Thinx has committed to taking steps to ensure that PFAS chemicals are no longer used in their products. The settlement with Thinx marks an important step in the battle against PFAS and underscores the significance of transparency and safety in the production and sale of consumer goods.
